Have you decided to enjoy your Erasmus experience in Barcelona? In which neighbourhood do you want to live? From Students Global Relocation we have made a selection of the best neighbourhoods for students in Barcelona. Read on to find out what they are and what you can find in each one of them. Then all you have to do is visit our website to choose your favourite flat in one of the best student neighbourhoods in Barcelona.

‍

Barcelona is a cosmopolitan, welcoming, modern and multicultural city. The sea, the gastronomy, its Mediterranean climate and its people make hundreds of Erasmus students choose it every year to live their experience.

‍

However, each neighbourhood will offer you different experiences, so it will depend on your lifestyle whether you choose one or the other:

‍

Sarrià

‍

Sarrià is one of the quietest student neighbourhoods in Barcelona, characterised by a warm, family atmosphere. In Sarrià you’ll find typical bars and bodegas along its main street, Major de Sarrià. In the neighbourhood market, a restored early 20th century building, you can buy fresh local products and fall in love with Catalan gastronomy.

‍

Sarrià also has places for science, culture and fun, such as Tibidabo and the CosmoCaixa museum. It is also a neighbourhood close to several universities, such as Ramon Llull University. A perfect area to enjoy Barcelona away from the chaos of the city centre.

‍

Les Corts

‍

This district of Barcelona is the city’s university area par excellence. It is home to the campuses of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which is an advantage when it comes to saving time and money. In Les Corts you will find dozens of shops for students, with services for students and prices adjusted to the students’ economy.

‍

Although it is not a central neighbourhood, it has an exceptional university atmosphere. This will allow you to experience university life up close without having to move to the city centre.

‍

Gràcia

‍

Gràcia is a neighbourhood known among students for its bohemian and multicultural character. The neighbourhood has narrow, pedestrianised streets and is full of cinemas, theatres and cultural centres. Within the Gràcia neighbourhood you can visit different tourist attractions, such as Park Güell or the Sagrada Familia. You can also enjoy one of the city’s most famous festivals, Fiestas de Gràcia. It also has university centres, such as Barcelona Centre Universitari.

‍

Ciutat Vella

‍

The Ciutat Vella neighbourhood is the most touristic area of Barcelona. Here you can visit some of the most famous places in the city, such as the Boqueria Market or the Ciutadella Park. It is a central area, full of bars and restaurants and close to the beach. One of the biggest advantages of this area of Barcelona is its constant movement, so you won’t have time to get bored. Even so, you should keep in mind that, as it is such a touristic area, its prices can be higher.

‍

Now you know the best student neighbourhoods in Barcelona, their advantages and disadvantages, will you be able to choose the one that best suits your tastes and needs?
