Public transport in Salamanca
Salamanca has excelent connections to Madrid's extensive public transport network. The district has 17 metro stations, including different lines, such as 2 (Goya, Manuel Becerra), 4 (Serrano, Velázquez) or 5 (Diego de León, Nuñez de Balboa), as well as numerous bus lines. It additionally has direct access to Cercanías trains, with the Recoletos station, which connects the municipality with both regional and national trains.
Bus: another transport option is the bus, which operates both within the city of Madrid and in nearby municipalities. In addition, there are night bus lines, commonly known as 'búho', which make it possible to travel by bus at any time.
Cercanías train: to get around the areas farther from the city center, there is a Cercanías train service. These trains connect the outskirts with the city center and operate from 5am to 00:00.
Metro: Madrid has 12 metro lines and more than 300 stations operating from 6am to 1:30am.

Parks and green areas
Although it does not belong to Salamanca neighborhood, the Retiro Park, the main green area of Madrid, is located a few steps away from the Puerta de Alcalá. A great place to walk, play sports and enjoy a natural environment in the big city. In addition, we can find more remote and charming green areas, such as the Jardines de Eva Duarte de Perón or la Quinta de la Fuente del Berro Park.
