How to get to Milan?
Milan is the financial center of Italy and the second most important city in the country. Therefore, getting to it will not be a problem for anyone. Now, once you land at any of its three airports, you must know how to get to the city center.
Milan has three airports: Milan Malpensa International Airport, Milan Linate International Airport and Orio al Serio International Airport, actually located in Bergamo.
Bus:
Malpensa: You have the option of moving from the airport to the Milan train station using the different bus services. There are two companies that offer these services, Malpensa Shuttle and Autostradale/Malpensa Bus Express. The price of this journey usually costs approximately €10.
Linate: The ATM 73 and X73 bus lines connect Linate Airport with Piazza San Babila, located a few steps from the Duomo. The duration of the journey is 30 minutes and the cost is €1.50. It is important to know that, in order to get on this bus, you must previously purchase the ticket at the kiosks, bars or tobacconists inside the airport. There is also a private company that offers this service, Starfly. This bus travels to Milan central train station, the trip duration is 30 minutes and the cost is €5.
Orio al Serio (Bergamo): The bus is the most comfortable means of transport to get from Orio al Serio Airport to the center of Milan. There are different private companies that provide this service, such as Terravision, Orioshuttle or Autostradale.Train:
Malpensa: There is a train service, called Malpensa Express, that connects the airport with the Cardona station, in the heart of the city. This trip lasts approximately 40 minutes and costs 13€.
Orio al Serio (Bergamo): An alternative to private bus companies is to take the public transport bus, which takes you from the airport to the Bergamo train station. Once at Bergamo station, you can take a regional train to Milan. This last journey lasts 50 minutes and usually costs around €5.50.Taxi:
Malpensa: The taxi is another of the options available to get to the city center, although the most expensive of all. Taxis are parked at gate 6 of Terminal 1, or at gate 4 of Terminal 2.
Linate: The price of the taxi service will depend on the schedule, traffic, final destination, etc. It is not advisable to take a taxi during rush hour (from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00).
Orio al Serio (Bergamo): The taxi takes 1 hour to take us to the center of Milan. The rate to be applied will vary depending on traffic or time of the day.

What is the cost of living in Milan?
To live well in Milan, you will need approximately €1,400 per month. The rent for a furnished studio in a normal area of the city is around €800 per month, to which you will have to add around another €100 for water, electricity and electricity costs. To give you an idea, a short consultation with a private doctor in Milan is around €80, a dinner for two in a neighborhood bar is usually around €40 and a half-liter mug of beer will cost you around €5. How to move around Milan?
Although Milan is not a very large city and can be easily explored on foot, if you are staying in an area a little far from the center, you will probably need to use public transport.
Metro: Although it only has 4 lines, the Milan metro is the largest in Italy. Tickets can be purchased at the metro stops, at kiosks and tobacconists, although it is advisable to purchase a pass if you are going to use the metro regularly. The activity hours are from 06:00 to 00:30.
Bus: Milan has more than 80 day bus lines and 15 night bus lines. Night bus tickets can be purchased directly on the bus, while day bus tickets must be purchased in advance at metro stops, kiosks or tobacconists.
Tram: Milan has 18 tram lines through which trams numbered 1 to 33 pass. In the same way as with the metro, tickets can be purchased at the metro stops themselves, at kiosks and at tobacconists. The tram's operating hours are from 05:00 to 2:30.
The fare system used by ATM Milano is divided into 9 Fare Zones. Depending on the areas you use, the ticket or pass will cost more or less.
It must be taken into account that you can carry luggage that does not exceed 50cm. If it is between 50-90cm you will need an additional ticket. Luggage exceeding 90cm is not permitted.

What is the nightlife like in Milan?
Milan is a city full of fun any day of the week. There are numerous neighborhoods where you can find bars and clubs to enjoy at night:
Navigli
The most recommended neighborhoods to discover Milanese nightlife are Navigli and Brera. Both neighborhoods have a bohemian and picturesque atmosphere and are full of bars and pubs. In Navigli, you can have a few drinks in pubs like BackDoor 43, which is the smallest cocktail bar in the world, and where you must reserve your table before going. You can also visit other cocktail bars such as Le Biciclette or, if you prefer to spend a night out in style at a nightclub, at Rocket Club you will find everything you need.
Brera neighborhood
Brera combines tradition and modernity. It has become one of the most alternative neighborhoods in the city and the cradle of Milanese design, although without losing its classic spaces, such as the church of Santa María del Carmine or the Teatro alla Scala. In this neighborhood is one of the most legendary bars in Milan: Jamaica. This bar has more than 100 years of history and is a great place to have cocktails.
Corso Como
It is a pedestrian street full of life and nightclubs. Some of the most famous nightclubs in Milan are Alcatraz, Loolapaloosa or Hollywood Rythmoteque.
Where to go shopping in Milan?
Milan is, along with Paris, London, and New York, one of the world capitals of fashion. Therefore, if you are going to spend some time living in Milan, it is almost mandatory to reserve a day to go shopping or, at least, visit the stores.
- The Fashion Quadrilateral: This is a quadrilateral full of fashion stores and, above all, luxury fashion stores. Here you can find famous brands such as Versace or Armani.
- Corso Vittorio Emanuele: A few steps from the Fashion Quadrilateral, you can find this wide, currently pedestrian street that connects Piazza del Duomo with Piazza San Babila.
- Piazza del Duomo: If you want to take a walk and buy something special, but even you don't know exactly what you want to buy, take a look at the shops in this central square.
- Corso di Porta Ticinese: Around this street you will find countless second-hand stores and alternative fashion brands.
